Slow, old, wrinkled and not very well bolted together (and that’s just the drivers), nothing to inspire the car lover, and certainly nothing to suggest it would be a good idea to try and sell a big Cadillac saloon in the UK. Wed, 22 Jun 2011Toyota is set to unveil its GRMN Sports Hybrid Concept II at the forth-coming Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race taking place this weekend. GRMN is an abbreviation of 'GAZOO Racing tuned by MN'. Gazoo being the Japanese motorsport specialist that has a loose affinity to Toyota following a collaboration on the iQ city car, whilst MN makes reference to ‘Meister of Nürburgring' or Hiromu Naruse; the Toyota test driver tragically killed behind the wheel of a Lexus LFA last year.

Wed, 09 Oct 2013Ford testing self-parking cars – with or without a driver It seems we’re heading to the point where cars can do more and more for the driver, and fully autonomous cars seem to be less than a decade away. On the way to the fully autonomous car, car makers will be offering stages on the way as the ability of cars to be self-controlling moves along, and Ford are heading in that direction with their new systems for parking and obstacle avoidance. Ford are running prototypes with Fully Assisted Parking, a system that manages to sense a space, control the steering, gearbox and brakes to park the car at the touch of a button, even if the driver isn’t actually in the car.
