The 2012 Audi S5
It doesn’t seem five minutes since the Audi A5 arrived, bridging the gap between the A4 and A6. Or, as the cynics may say, allowing Audi charge a lot more for what is an A4 Coupe. Still, the A5 has been – as all Audis are – a success.

Spurred by the story of our ride in Steve McQueen's Jaguar XKSS, Richard Haight felt inclined to chime in with the fact that he not only raced motorcycles with (and against) McQueen, but knew him all the way until the King of Cool's death. Haight raced motorcycles on and off for 50 years. McQueen would come and race at the local American Motorcycle Association District 37, usually entering under assumed names like "Harvey Mushman" to enjoy some semblance of normality.

Whether the European Commission does or doesn't succeed in fixing a tight new emissions cap on vehicles by 2012, 'clean' is definitely in vogue right now. So it seemed appropriate that the eco-party last week moved to the French Riviera. 'EVER' - Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies - is in its second year and showcased a motley crew of environmentally-friendly vehicles at the Forum Grimaldi in Monaco.
