Aston Martin Rapide coming home
Tue, 07 Jun 2011Aston Martin Rapide - homeward bound It took Aston Martin what seemed like forever to get their four-door supercar – the Aston Martin Rapide – in to production, and even then they didn’t build it themselves. When they were busy planning production of the Rapide the world’s economy was buoyant, credit was a piece of cake and Aston Martins were flying out of the showroom. But the new economic reality bit in 2008 and sales fell at Aston Martin, but by then the plan to get the Rapide built at Magna Steyr in Austria was unstoppable so, despite Aston Martin workers twiddling their thumbs as Magna Steyr built Rapides, there as nothing to be done.
Gemballa Mirage GT Matt
Tue, 23 Jun 2009The Gemballa Mirage GT Matt I’ve said it before, but there has to come a point when Gemballa run out of Porsche Carrera GTs to play with. Only 1270 Carrera GTs were ever made, and I swear Uwe Gemballa and his team have built that many different versions! The Gemballa Mirage GT comes in Matt finish paint – Black with Silver detail.
McLaren F1 – the California Burn-Up!
Tue, 02 Jun 2009Brings a tear to the eye - a burnt-out McLaren F1 The McLaren F1 is certainly a car designed to burn up the road. But for one poor owner that became a literal nightmare as his £1.75 million McLaren F1 burnt out on a drive to the airport in Rincon Valley, California. McLaren owner Irv Kessler hadn’t used the F1 for 6 months, but he probably wishes he hadn’t yesterday either.
