Crazy Car Project's Electric Toyota 2000GT SEV

Fri, 13 Jan 2012

Back in 2007, Autoweek contributor Murilee Martin and I were wandering around the Monterey Historics. He commented, “I wonder if they have a 2000GT here. I've never seen one.” “Come with me,” I answered, offering no clue to the sight that awaited him.

2012 BMW M5 UK Price £73,040 & new UK M5 photos & Video

Wed, 16 Nov 2011

2012 BMW M5 UK photos, video & price BMW spilled the beans on the 2012 M5 back in June, so we already knew it would cost £73,040 when it went on sale in November in the UK. But now November is here, BMW UK has decided – quite sensibly – that now’s as good a time as any to remind us of the fact and to send over a bunch of new photos of the M5 and a new M5 video. Apart from a set of UK-specific photos and video of the new M5, we also get reminded just how appealing a prospect the new M5 is.

Hyundai move from Baboons to Kids to test quality

Fri, 05 Jul 2013

Hyundai let a troop of 4 & 5 year olds loose on an i30 to test quality Last year, Hyundai let a troop of 40 safari park baboons loose on an i30 to see if, left to their own devices, they could trash Hyundai’s very well bolted together (just ask Martin Winterkorn) i30. It was a clever way to demonstrate that the i30 doesn’t just look good, but is made of a bit more than recycled baked bean cans and Fairy liquid bottles. The i30 came through the baboon test with flying colours (even the company tasked with cleaning it up after the baboons commented on the story that they were impressed by how unscathed the i30 was), but Hyundai has now come up with a quality test that makes the baboon adventure look like a walk in the (safari) park.
