Hyundai UK target SME fleet sales
Mon, 23 Sep 2013Hyundai Basildon (pictured), one of Hyundai’s new Fleet Business Centres The last few years has seen Hyundai convince the car buying public that their cars are as credible and well built – not to mention appealing – as anything from the mainstream; no longer a budget option, Hyundais are now a real force. So once you’ve cracked Joe Public and his preconceptions, the next step is to crack the bit of Joe Public that buys a few cars at a time – the owners of small and medium businesses (SME) with a modest fleet (by fleet standards) of up to ten cars. With that in mind, Hyundai has appointed 27 Fleet Business Centres at Hyundai dealers across the UK with dedicated staff – and extra hand-holding and facilities – to coax the small business owner in to a bit of Hyundai goodness for his/her business.
Is Saab doomed because Victor Muller wants to have his cake & eat it?
Sat, 22 Oct 2011Saab: Time for Victor Muller to be forced aside? Victor Muller is a charming and charismatic man, as evidenced by the endless stream of seemingly sensible business people he’s persuaded to invest in Saab, and other Muller ventures. But we’re beginning to wonder if the demise of Saab has been hastened by Muller, rather than delayed.
BMW 7-series hybrid due in 2009
Mon, 07 Jul 2008By Nick Gibbs Motor Industry 07 July 2008 14:30 BMW will launch a hybrid petrol version of the newly unveiled 7-series in 2009, but admits it’s more for green-leaning V8 addicts than seriously eco-aware bosses. Even with the latest lithium-ion batteries, the forthcoming 4.4-litre V8 petrol-electric version will struggle to match the astonishing 39.2mpg and 192g/km of CO2 of the new six-cylinder diesel, especially when BMW will launch stop-start technology for the whole range within two years. The hybrid is likely to cost several thousand more than the £65,000 it’s estimated you’ll need to buy the regular, twin-turbo 750i that goes on sale in November 2008.
