2007 Klr650 Klr Bottom End Motor Center Engine And Clutch Basket 6k Miles on 2040-parts.com
El Dorado Hills, California, US
I believe this is off a 2007 KLR 650. It was given to me and I was going to use it for parts for my KLR's.
The bike it was taken off of had 6k miles. I do not know if it was totaled, however this bottom end appears to be in excellent shape. The clutch basket looks near new and so does the fly wheel.
The piston looks to be in decent shape and I did not notice any pitting or any grinding when I rotated the bottom end to see how it felt.
I would still recommend cracking the case just to double check.
I am starting this at a low bid price. The weight is about 75lb with packing. I usually pack my engines very well when I ship them off.
Thank you for look and please feel free to ask me any questions before you bid.
I took a photo of the Engine Vin and listed it so you can double check it. This is what I found on the internet for IDing the year of the bike.
KLR Timeline – ’A’ and 'E' models (Last update Mar. 29, 2013)
This group of photos is still a work in progress, so if you have a good photo of an original bike for any model year, or information about North
It appears that in the early years, there were North American bikes (denoted “NA” in the photos) and a separate set of color schemes used on Non-North American bikes (denoted “Not NA” or “NNA” in the photos). There are also “B-model” (Tengai) and “C-model” (KLR650C) bikes that are not covered here. The last 'A' model KLR650 was the 2007 model, and in 2008 the designation became "KLR650E" so both model lines are covered below. I have a second article titled “KLR650A and E Production Estimates and ID Numbers” that dives into the numbers, and works in concert with this set of timeline photos.
Overall, the engine numbering system breaks into two categories, and the switch didn’t occur with the ’96 engine changes, nor does it occur with the shift of motorcycle production to Thailand in 2002… or even the E model introduction in 2008. Very non-intuitive!
The first engine ID set are the “AEO” engines (for instance KL650AEO12345). These started in 1987 with 00001 and ended in 2002 somewhere
around 54500. They do NOT match the frame number.
The second engine ID set are the “AEA” engines (for instance KL650AEA12345). These started in 2003 with #03323 and are still in production
today – as of early 2013, I’ve seen engine IDs around the 85000 mark. They DO match the frame number for the 2003-2007 bikes only.

Porsche 911 Carrera GTS (2010) pictures and video
Wed, 15 Sep 2010If you thought we didn’t need another Carrera version of the current 911, look away now – the Carrera GTS is revealed today, boasting a little bit more power, a millisecond or two of extra performance, a smidge more width, a smattering of cosmetic frippery and costing £12,500 more than a boggo model. If you happen to be Che Guevara or any other revolutionary, it isn’t for you. Let’s face it, this is a fairly blatant run-out job, with the next 911 due next year, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be brilliant to drive.
