'Dalek' taking on charity challenge

A GROUP of Doctor Who die-hards from Warwickshire have transformed a battered old car into a Dalek for a charity rally across Europe. Four friends have spent months turning the seven-year-old Fiat people carrier into a four-wheeled likeness of The Doctor's arch-nemesis for the Wacky Rally, starting Friday. Clare Brookes, a funeral director by trade, is hoping the eye-catching car - which has a loud hailer jammed in the sun-roof that emits "exterminate" on demand - will help them raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Caterham in surprise motorbike racing move

Caterham has today revealed it is moving into motorbike racing, with the launch of a Moto2 World Championship team that will debut in 2014. The two-bike team will compete in the feeder series to the ultra-popular MotoGP championship, with one rider – American Josh Herrin – already being confirmed for one of the race seats. Sao Paolo 'Giugiaro – 45 Years of Italian Design' exhibition announced

The ‘Giugiaro – 45 years of Italian Design' exhibition will be held at the Sao Paolo Museu da Casa Brasileira. The show, held from 7 February until 31 March, highlights the significance of Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro's work for the Italian design identity. The Museu da Casa Brasileira, which gives the most important design award in Brazil, will use five rooms to display exhibits ranging from car designs and concepts – the Aztec and Structura – to production models including the Volkswagen Golf Mk 1.
