Saab’s Jan Åke Jonsson retires, 2010 earnings & deals in Russia & China

Saab's CEO Jan Ake Jonsson to retire after almost 40 years with Saab It’s been a difficult period at Saab, what with trying to survive as GM came close to closing the Swedish car maker down in the absence of a ‘suitable’ buyer, through being taken over by Spyker and then trying to replace their entire range. And it’s taken its toll on Saab boss Jan Åke Jonsson. It’s been announced that – after nearly 40 years with Saab – 59-year old Jan Åke will step down from his job in May and hand the reins over – temporarily – to Spyker’s Victor Muller until a replacement can be found.

Mercedes-Benz CLA

This is the Mercedes-Benz CLA, the four-door sedan version of the latest C-segment A-Class although the Merc marketing department would rather we call it a 'four-door coupé'. Previewed by the Concept Style Coupé at the Beijing auto show earlier in 2012, the CLA will join a growing band of C-segment premium sedans including the new Audi A3. Coventry University students prepare for the MA Design Degree Show

MA students from England's Coventry University Automotive Design course are preparing for their annual degree exhibition. This year's Show, entitled '15' will present fifteen students work from the fifteen month course in the new Coventry Transport Museum in the centre of the city.   The projects on show cover the full spectrum of vehicle concepts ranging from a luxury car inspired by Chanel perfume to a future proposal for a New York taxi and students have taken a wide variety of starting points for their project research.
