BMW 3-series (2012): our comprehensive guide to F30

BMW has sold 12 million 3-series models since 1975; it’s an important car, one that accounts for a third of global BMW sales. The sixth-generation, codenamed F30, has a lot to live up to, then. Here are the key changes: Chassis The F30 is still, of course, rear-wheel drive, has 50:50 weight distribution, and sticks with the MacPherson strut front/multi-link rear suspension layout of its predecessors rather than following the double-wishbone front suspension employed by the new F10 5-series.

BMW 2 Series tease begins (video)

New BMW 2 Series tease begins BMW’s plans to extend their model range continues, with the new BMW 2 Series due to join its larger sibling – the BMW 4 Series – as the 1 Class Coupe/Cabriolet. The official reveal for the new BMW 2 Series is expected at the end of next week, but ahead of that BMW has started to tease its new Coupe on video (below). We don’t get to see much – and what we do see isn’t a huge surprise – but we already know much of what to expect when the 2 Series starts to hit the road in 2014.

Ferrari 599 GTO

The Ferrari 599 GTO is the third in an illustrious line of Gran Turismo Omologato models from Maranello. It may look like a lightly modified GTB Fiorano, but is, in fact, almost entirely new. The hood's prominent center bulge and aerodynamic wheel disks are a hat-tip to Ferrari's F1 cars, while the contrasting matte black roof and flying buttresses visually lower the center of gravity and break up the 599's mass.
