New Maserati Ghibli could get 4.0 litre V8 Diesel
Sun, 28 Apr 2013The V8 diesel is not exactly the most common engine on offer, but it is an engine Ford makes and is probably best known as the engine of choice in the new Range Rover and the new 2014 Range Rover Sport (finally). We’ve also been championing its credentials as a perfect V8 diesel engine for Jaguar’s XJ, but Jaguar don’t seem to be listening. But it’s not just Land Rover who’ve got a big V8 diesel in an appealing road car, Porsche also has the new Cayenne diesel S complete with a V8 diesel with oodles of torque, the promise of great headline economy when you’re poodling and a 0-62mph in just 5.7 seconds.
Smart ForTwo Brabus
Fri, 09 Mar 2007By Tim Pollard Motor Shows 09 March 2007 11:31 Smart ForTwo Brabus: the lowdown With a third more power than the outgoing Brabus, the new ForTwo looks set to be quite a pocket rocket. The newcomer, unveiled at Geneva, packs a punchy 98bhp and has a sprightly 780kg to carry around, so Smart is promising warm-hatch performance for the first time in a ForTwo. Okay, so it won't trouble the GTI brigade, but the new Brabus will crack 62mph in 9.9sec and is so fast they've had to limit it to 155.
2015 Subaru WRX debuts at Los Angeles Auto Show
Wed, 20 Nov 2013If you loved the rakish WRX concept that bowed in New York earlier this year, the production 2015 WRX, which debuted today at the Los Angeles Auto Show, may be a slight downer: decidedly less boy-racer than its predecessors, its sculpted fender flares and unique sheetmetal only slightly disguise its Impreza rootstock. But the WRX has always been more about performance than style, anyway, and Subaru says the new car will top its predecessor on that front. The '14 WRX's 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer-four squeezes out 268 hp and 258 lb-ft -- just a little bit more than the outgoing 2.5-liter turbo-equipped car.
