Concept Car of the Week: Jaguar R-D6 (2003)

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

Ten years ago Jaguar was still under the (s)mothering wing of Ford's Premier Auto Group. Its range comprised of the technically-advanced but stylistically geriatric XJ sedan, the golfers' favourite waftmobile XK8, the droopy S-Type with what appeared to be a lavatory seat on its nose and a Ford Mondeo in a bowler hat known as the X-Type. Nissan Juke Nismo: Price from £19,995

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

Nissan has announced that their sport take on the Juke – the Nissan Juke Nismo – will cost from £19,995 and is the first of a new Nismo range. For your £20k you’ll get a new sporty Juke with an extra 10 horses thanks to a tweak or three to the 1.6 litre petrol engine in the Juke DIG-T, which means a total of 197bhp, 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds and 135mph. Not exactly up there with the Juke R, but more than enough to blat properly round an urban landscape.

The Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo Tech Edition is a limited edition of the already limited edition Fabia Monte Carlo, with added equipment. We all understand that producing limited edition cars adds a bit of showroom gloss, with car makers adding something extra – and often unique to the model, to create a ‘Limited Edition’ with extra equipment to boost sales. But is it stretching things a bit far when a car maker takes an already ‘Limited’ edition car and bolts more goodies on to it to create a ‘new’ limited edition?
