PREMIUM CARS IN DEMAND DESPITE RISING FUEL PRICES
Thu, 10 Oct 2013THE RECENT sustained surge in UK petrol prices is not having a detrimental effect on the market for used luxury cars, large prestige SUVs and supercars, that’s according to industry experts Glass's. Current pump prices are at record highs, however whilst the value of a typical family car has risen by at least two per cent since January, large 4x4s have registered a rise of twice this amount. Peter Schreyer introduces Kia's new Sportage
Mon, 26 Jul 2010It's a sign of just how significant the new Sportage is for Kia that rather than flying UK journalists to an international launch location the company instead rented a boutique hotel in London's Notting Hill, created a sketch gallery in the basement and flew in key members of the car's development team to meet the press — who were then lent some the first new Sportage's in the UK to test for a month. One executive present at the event was Kia's Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer. Car Design News was invited to meet with Peter to talk about his role at Kia and for him to talk us through a vehicle Kia is billing as the first to be designed entirely under his tenure.
50 Years of Bond Cars at the National Motor Museum
Mon, 24 Oct 2011Release the oil slick, raise the bulletproof rear screen and push the red ejector seat button in anticipation of what promises to be one of the must-see automotive attractions of 2012: Bond in Motion. Tell me more, Moneypenny 2012 will mark the 50th anniversary of Sean Connery's first utterance of the icnonic 'the name's Bond, James Bond' line, and to celebrate this celluloid milestone the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is hosting Bond in Motion, an exciting exhibition of the fictional spy's 50 most recognisable vehicles. The year-long display of 007's cars, motorbikes, boats and other unlikely forms of transportation promises to be the largest of its kind anywhere in the world.
