Smart will preview its upcoming second-generation Forfour at next week's Frankfurt motor show when it shows the Fourjoy, the latest concept from the Mercedes-Benz owned city car brand. Pictured here for the first time, the new four-seater follows the earlier Forus and Forstars concepts, providing clues to next year's Forfour, developed with Renault. Prototype of new Alfa Romeo Milano is spied; a future car for Chrysler?

Chrysler let slip the names to two upcoming Alfa Romeo models in its survival plan submitted to Congress--and here is a look at one of them, the Milano. Alfa has been developing this five-door small car to replace the 147 in its lineup. The new car was developed under the 149 name, but it will be called the Milano when it is launched in Europe late this year.

Millions of Ford vehicles recalled for engine-fire risk are still unrepaired

About 8.4 million Ford vehicles that can possibly catch fire remain on the road because of lack of owner information even after the largest U.S. safety recall ever, regulators said Thursday. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration urged owners of the 14 million vehicles recalled between 1999 and 2009 for leaky cruise-control switches to take their unrepaired vehicles in to dealers.
