The Qazana, unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, is set to take the place of the Micra at Nissan’s Sunderland plant, safeguarding over 1,000 local jobs. And after the official first view of the Qazana at Geneva, Nissan bosses decided it was time to let the workforce in Sunderland have a good look at the Qazana to see what mad-looking motor is going to save their jobs.
Fiat 500 Coupe Zagato (2011) at Geneva motor show
Thu, 03 Mar 2011Fiat surprised the Geneva audience with a Zagato-bodied variation on the familiar new 500 theme. Fiat 500 Coupe Zagato: an Italian Mini Coupe rival With Mini branching out in all different directions and Citroen growing its DS brand, it was perhaps inevitable that Fiat would try new things with the 500. It looks strikingly different at first sight, but the Coupe Zagato is based on the existing 500 platform. The differences mainly concern a modified lower roofline, bearing the traditional Zagato double-hump roof contours and rear window/C-pillar treatment. The standard 500 interior has been retrimmed in black and yellow leather to match the ‘Pop Yellow’ exterior hue.
Audi Urban Future Awards 2010 - Phase 2
Thu, 16 Sep 2010Imagine a utopia where digital technology allows for an uninterrupted traffic flow of autonomously driven pay-as-you-go ‘taxis' that liberate the urban landscape from the unnecessary clutter of road signs, traffic lights, parked vehicles and the pollution caused by street lights. This was the winning proposal from Berlin architect J Mayer H who has won the Audi Urban Future Awards. In this visionary cityscape for 2030, the car will transform from being a machine for maneuvering in traffic to a sensorial experience machine – the opened up urban space allowing its inhabitants to appreciate buildings and other monuments overshadowed by sheer traffic and its support systems.
