Volvo revamps S60, V60 and XC60 for 2013
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Volvo has taken a scalpel to six of the eight models, reworking the styling and upgraded their on-board infotainment. Despite only being on sale since summer 2010, the S60, V60 and XC60 have been stripped of their quad-light styling. There are also more subtle changes for the V70, XC70 and S80 models.
CCS students tackle GM project
Thu, 03 Jun 2010Seniors studying Transportation Design at the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, Michigan, have recently completed a project with General Motors that has been underway since late 2009. General Motors challenged the students to design an Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) that focused on the brand identity of Buick, Cadillac or Chevrolet, utilized the EREV components, and optimized aerodynamic attributes. Design features that incorporated sustainability materials and efficiency were also considered important components of the design development.
Maybach 57S Coupe arrives
Mon, 04 Oct 2010The Maybach 57S Coupe by Xenatec Regular readers will know that we gave due warning back in March that Maybach was going to be allowed to wither on the vine rather than get new models, apart from a run-out Maybach Coupe based on the Maybach 57S and ‘produced’ by German firm Xenatec. Mercedes refuted our story about the Maybach badge being allowed to die again soon after the story ran (although there were rumblings at Paris last week that Mercedes has lost patience with Maybach. We’ll see), but what we did get was an official announcement that there will indeed be 100 Maybach 57S Coupes built by Xantech and that they will costs a rather large €675,000.
