DAB radio in cars and the digital switchover

Britain's motorists face a £1 billion+ bill to fix their car radios so they work after the digital switchover, a CAR Magazine investigation reveals. The Government plans to switch off the FM signal and move the UK's broadcasting industry to DAB digital radios - mirroring the switchover from analogue to digital televisions. The official target for the digital radio switchover is 2015, but many commentators predict that date will slip as there is a great deal of work to be done before Britain is ready.

2013 Ferrari F620 GT hits the Web early

A quick-handed photographer over at GTSpirit.com was able to grab the first image of the new 2013 Ferrari F620 GT. The car will be shown on March 6 at the Geneva motor show in Switzerland. Specs from eGarage.com cite the 6.3-liter V12 at 740 hp and 690 lb-ft of torque, with an 8,700-rpm redline.

A9 cameras already curbing speeders

NEWLY-INSTALLED cameras on one of Scotland's most notorious roads are already cutting drivers' speed. The average-speed cameras on the A9 have not yet been switched on, but have nonetheless seen the number of motorists breaking the speed the limit on the Perth to Pitlochry stretch drop from one in three to one in 10. Work began to install the devices from Perth to Inverness last month, one of a number of planned measures to improve safety on the main route connecting central Scotland and the Highlands.
