IMPORTANT: This listing is for the APIM portion of the Sync system only. But that's the most important part -- with unlocked navigation. It does not include the touchscreen. The touchscreen is in the pictures only in order to be more clear to potential bidders to show which area of the Fusion this is from. You will simply use your existing touchscreen already in your Fusion and replace your APIM (the part with the heat sinks) with this one.

Ideally your Fusion should at least currently have:
  • Heated Seats
  • Active Park Assist
Once installed, this will instantly add Navigation to the above list, with the acquisition of a Ford Sync Navigation SD card, widely available on eBay.  If you do NOT have heated seats, that's okay...the icons on the screen will simply do nothing when pressed.  But your Fusion MUST at least have the Active Park Assist feature - available by pressing the "P" button on the center console, on the opposite side of the parking break.

Have a Fusion with MyFord Touch 8" screen but no navigation ability (only the Information/Compass) wishing you purchased it with factory navigation (normally a $795 option)?  Love your Fusion otherwise and don't want to get a new one just for the sake of adding factory navigation?  Installing this APIM portion only (the part with the heat sinks) module to the back of your existing screen (replacing your module of course) will instantly add navigation to your Fusion for model years 2013 through 2016.

ALL FUSIONS -- regardless of the trim level and even if it did not come with OEM navigation -- already have a GPS antenna in them!  It's the little 1" square raised plastic area on the top center of your dashboard.  That is your GPS antenna.  That's why those of you without navigation can see your coordinates on the "Information" screen...for 911 purposes.  But that's it.  No navigation.  This unit will solve that and plug right in -- no splicing, crimping, or additional wiring harnesses needed.  Just disconnect the two plugs on the back of yours, remove your existing APIM from the back of your screen and replace with this one, and plug them both back in.  No need to take it to a dealer.  It's a 30 minute job from start to finish and requires just a 7mm socket driver and a phillips #2 screwdriver.

PLEASE ask any questions.  I am extremely familiar with all the ins and outs of adding OEM navigation to your Fusion, as I personally own a 2014 SE stick shift Fusion and have done the same with it.

Taken from a salvaged Fusion, this flawless, 100% working OEM navigation enabled APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module - the heat sink module pictured on the back of the screen and really, the brains of the entire Sync system) will instantly add navigation to your existing Fusion, even if your existing Fusion did not come with navigation.  I feel as if it should be clarified for educational purposes that the part with the heat sink is really the part the matters.  The screen is just a screen.  It's the APIM that either has Navigation locked down at the assembly line, or unlocked.  This APIM has it unlocked.  The APIM only is being sold - just unscrew your non-navigation APIM from your screen and screw this one on, then replace both back into your Fusion.  The screen is being sold separately on one of my other auctions.

The ONLY thing that matters is that you currently have a Fusion with an existing 8" screen, called MyFord Touch that was added as an option at the factory on your Fusion.  Your Fusion must also have the Active Park Assist feature as well.  It doesn't matter if your Fusion is an automatic or manual transmission (yes, they do exist, as that's what mine is).  If you have questions about this paragraph, please do ask.  I'll be more than happy to further explain.

The VIN number of the Fusion from which this module was taken was: 3FA6P0HR7DR380748
You can see in the PDF window sticker I printed that the vehicle from which this was taken originally came with the ability (unlocking) of navigation programmed into the APIM.

Hungarian Grand Prix (2011) RESULT

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

Hungary F1 Grand Prix 2011 The 2011 Hungary Grand Prix marks the 200th Grand Prix for Jenson Button, and is also the scene of his first Grand Prix win, a win made in very similar weather conditions – overcast with intermittent rain – as the Hungaroring presented in 2011. A good omen, perhaps? As it turned out the often boring Hungarian Grand Prix was a properly good show.

New 2013 Nissan Note gets more appealing

Mon, 18 Feb 2013

The new Nissan Note has turned in to a Ford Fiesta basher as Nissan turn the Note from a boring little MPV in to a convincing small hatch. We did think the Invitation would be watered down to produce a slightly titivated new Note for production, but much of the style has found its way through in to the new Note – which we first saw in the JDM Nissan Note last summer – and the Note now looks set to take on proper compact hatches like the Ford Fiesta. The nose of the new Note is now more convincing – with new headlights and grill – and the doors get a great big feature crease that looks like a giant smoothing iron has stamped its mark, although Nissan say it’s a ‘Squash Line’  whose ‘angles were inspired by the flight of a fast moving squash ball travelling around a court’.

BMW 335iS (2011) prices +video

Thu, 28 Jan 2010

The BMW 335iS Convertible - starts at $59K Normally we would have made the headline ‘BMW 355iS US prices’, but as BMW has decided that the new 335iS is going to be a North America car only we guess that anyone looking for a price will know it’s going to be a dollar price. As we reported last week, BMW are releasing the 335iS to bridge a gap they perceive exists between the 335i and the M3. Which seems more like the sort of think Audi would do rather than BMW, but perhaps they’ve learnt a trick or two from their four-ringed neighbours about filling every possible niche?
