Bentley 6¾ litre V8 to end production – Diesels & Hybrid on the way
Fri, 17 Aug 2012Bentley’s outgoing boss has revealed Bentley are planning to drop their trademark 6¾ litre V8 and introduce hybrid and diesel options. Bentley’s famed 6¾ litre V8 engine – in production since 1959, although it didn’t grow to 6¾ litre until 1970 - is as much a USP for Bentley as the badge and the history. BMW tried to bring production of the old iron lump to an end in 1998 – replacing it with a characterless BMW 4.4 litre V8 – but it was back a year later when VW took over as the motivation for the Red Label Arnage – and it’s stayed ever since.
2014 Nissan Qashqai teased… again
Mon, 04 Nov 2013This is the first proper picture of the all-new, second-generation Nissan Qashqai SUV crossover, set to go on sale in the UK in early 2014. As we reported last week, although the new Qashqai’s official unveiling isn’t until Thursday 7 November 2013, Nissan can’t help itself, giving us a sneak peak of what it’s got in store for the new car with this latest image. On Bing: see pictures of the 2014 Nissan Qashqai Find out how much a used Nissan Qashqai costs on Auto Trader The studio shot was a bit dark and dingy when it dropped into the MSN Cars’ inbox, but thanks to some Photoshop trickery, we’ve managed to brighten up the picture to get a good look at the replacement for the UK’s best-selling SUV in 2012.
AutoStyle 2010
Fri, 03 Dec 2010Earlier this year, we had the pleasure to attend AutoStyle 2010's design competition; a wonderfully familial, small-scale event that takes place in the picturesque village of San Benedetto Po, in northern Italy. Hosted by Berman, an aftermarket supplier of bespoke components to many OEMs, the event is a two-day gathering where many of the industry's designers, buyers and suppliers attend a conference to hear about the trends as perceived by automakers and to see the newest ‘special versions' created by budding designers. The 7th edition of the AutoStyle design competition showcased a wide array of aftermarket designs for the Ferrari California, Nissan Micra, Ford Focus, Alfa Romeo Giulietta and the Citroen DS Highrider concept.
