McLaren upgrades MP4-12C for 2013

The McLaren MP4-12C supercar will get a bevy of updates for 2013, and current 12C owners will have access to most of them at no charge. First and most importantly on the list is a power increase, from 592 hp to 616 hp, a 24-horse bump through engine-remapping. The boost in power helps pull the McLaren to a 10.6 quarter-mile, one-tenth of a second faster than in the previous year model.

Volkswagen's New Compact Coupe (NCC) concept previews the next Jetta, but with two-doors rather than four. The car's front - minus the hybrid-style closed grille - pretty much represents the new face of the sixth-generation production Jetta due on sale this November, and its syling is informed by the latest Polo as well as some recent concepts from the German brand. GM's Henderson: Future rests on Chevy, Cadillac, Buick and GMC

General Motors will go to market with four core brands in the future: Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC. Pontiac will be shrunk "significantly," a senior GM executive told the Automotive News World Congress. GM COO Fritz Henderson said that GM is conducting a strategic review of its Saab and Hummer brands and that the "status quo" for the Saturn brand will not work.
