BMW i3 caught testing in New York
Tue, 28 May 2013BMW has been hyping its futuristic i lineup for years now, but the long lead time doesn't mean that the highly efficient, carbon-fiber-based vehicles are vaporware. Earlier this month, we test drove pre-production versions of the i3 and i8, and last week, Autoweek reader Frank Cogliano spied the former vehicle on the road. Half of drivers try home fixes
Fri, 06 Dec 2013ALMOST HALF of the UK’s drivers have tried to fix their car at home with help from an online video rather than take it to a garage. A study by breakeryard.com shows two-fifths of drivers use videos from websites such as Youtube to learn how to fix their car. The study also showed that more than half (54%) had also tried to fix their car at home to save money on repair bills.
Over 350,000 drivers 'at risk of £1,000 fine'
Tue, 04 Mar 2014THOUSANDS of drivers risk collecting a £1,000 fine or worse by being unaware of the date their MOT expires. Research by MOTA, an independent booking provider of servicing and MOTs suggests that 43% of customers making enquiries already had an expired MOT, and 15% had no idea when their MOT was due. A car without a valid MOT being driven on the road is potentially subject to a £1,000 by the police, and also means that insurers may not pay out in the event of an accident.
