Portugal commits to the Electric Car

Sun, 23 Nov 2008

Renault Electric Car [ad#ad-1] Portugal has today committed to building 1,300 recharging stations around the country by 2011, in a deal agreed with Renault to supply Electric Cars (EV). This is a further indication of the global rush to go green, with ‘carbon’ taxes and ‘carbon’ incentives sprouting from the desks of politicians throughout the West. Hamilton rises again

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

LEWIS HAMILTON stayed true to the philosophy he has inked on his back as a victory to savour ignited his Formula One world title challenge for this year. The words 'Still I Rise' are tattooed across the top of his shoulders - and also adorn his helmet from this season - and are a reminder that in adversity there remains the capacity to perform and achieve. After enduring an unhappy season-opening Australian Grand Prix two weeks ago that was littered with technical problems, one of which forced his retirement after just two laps, Hamilton rose above such disappointment to clinch his first win in Malaysia, and 23rd of his F1 career.

Drayson Racing aiming for Electric car World Land Speed Record

Thu, 30 May 2013

The Drayson B12 69/EV – heading to RAF Elvington to break the EV land speed record. One of the best uses for electric car technology is to deliver copious amounts of instant torque for track cars – far more than an ICE engine manages – and Drayson Racing Technology is aiming to prove how much that electric power can help by taking its Drayson B12 69/EV to RAF Elvington on 25th June to attempt to break the land speed record for an EV. That record – 175mph – has stood since 1975 (which probably shows how little EV technology has really moved on in the last 40 years), but the low-drag version of the Drayson electric Le Mans prototype is aiming to break that down the 1.86 mile runway at Elvington.
