Golf Mk 6 bows out with new VW Golf R Cabriolet
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Volkswagen is finally delivering the VW Golf R Cabriolet Mk 6, just as the Golf Mk 7 hits the road, but it does without 4WD. But it’s taken until now – 2013 and after the Mk 7 Golf arrived – for VW to fulfil the promise of more powerful open-top motoring in the Golf with the arrival – following a Golf R Cabrio tease video at the end of 2012 – to finally reveal it. Just as you’d expect, the Golf R Cabriolet is mechanically similar to the Golf R in that it gets the same 2.0 litre turbo four cylinder petrol engine that delivers its power through a six-speed dual-clutch auto box.
BMW i3 Coupe EV in production end of 2013 (video)
Sun, 16 Dec 2012The BMW i3 Coupe Concept will go in to production at the end of 2013, and BMW tell us why the i3 is so important in a new video. We’ve already got the little i3 in the mix and due to arrive in 2013 (although it could come with the more pragmatic option of a range extender instead of as a pure EV) and the i8 supercar is well on its way. But after the reveal of the BMW i3 Coupe Concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month, BMW has confirmed the i3 Coupe will go in to production by the end of 2013, and it will be an EV.

Wed, 02 Feb 2011Mazda2 Takuya, Mazda3 Takuya & Mazda6 Takuya for 2011 As we’ve mentioned – more than once – the start of the year is prime time for the ‘Limited Edition’ and ‘Special Edition’ and any other sort of ‘Edition’ car makers can conjure up as they try to keep metal moving. Today, it’s the turn of Mazda. Mazda have done the whole ‘Edition’ bit in spades this time, with the return of the range-topping Mazda Takuya.
