A new batch of Ford Mustang Cobra Jets is on the way to racers

The 40th Anniversary 2008 Mustang Cobra Jet, announced about a year ago, has been such a huge success for Ford Racing that the company will build a 2010 model, available later this year. Like the '08 CJ, just 50 examples of the turnkey race car will be built, the minimum number to homologate the car for competition in National Hot Rod Association events. An '08 Cobra Jet won its inaugural event in the Stock Eliminator Class in February at the NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, Calif., just as the original 1968 Cobra Jet did.

The first is the No.2 Team Car raced by Tim Birkin – one of the Bentley Boys – at Le Mans and bought back by Bentley in 2000. Perhaps best known for its tussle with Mercedes’ awesome 7 litre Kompressor at Le Mans in 2013, the car has been regularly put to good use round the world since Bentley bought it back. GM recalls nearly 15,000 Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Impala sedans

General Motors is recalling about 15,000 vehicles to fix two problems--reprogramming the electronic stability control in some 2012 Buick LaCrosse cars and rerouting the power-steering hose on the 2012 Chevrolet Impala. The automaker is recalling 10,344 Impalas to reroute the upper power-steering house that could fail because of heat from the catalytic converter. As a result, the hose sprays fluid over the catalytic converter, causing smoke and potential fire.
