Nissan previews Resonance Detroit show concept

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

Nissan has teased its Resonance crossover concept ahead of its official debut next week in Detroit. The image of the concept, which Nissan says is the latest in a series of crossover designs "fusing bold styling with a hybrid-electric powertrain," shows a sharp flowing character line running along the side as well as the L-shaped LED rear lamps that can be found on the Nissan Juke. We can also see that the Resonance features a floating roof, created by the C-pillar not joining up to the roof but curving down to leave a break to the roof, giving the impression that it is floating over the rear window.

MINI Countryman hits UK +Video

Sat, 04 Sep 2010

The MINI Countryman hits the UK in September To be honest, if we were to cover every MINI as it hits the UK – in addition to reporting its initial reveal – since BMW revived the MINI badge we’d have a whole site’s worth of MINI stories. But the MINI Countryman is a different kettle of fish. So it is news that the Countryman hits the UK.

VW Design Vision GTI gets 500bhp: Worthersee

Wed, 08 May 2013

The Design Vision GTI is built to show what a Golf built for racing would look like – and perhaps point to future evolutions of VW’s most successful car – and is built on the same MQB platform as the regular GTI. It’s a bit shorter (15mm) than a regular Golf, a chunk wider (71mm) and a lot lower (57mm) which conspires to make the Design Vision GTI much more aggressive looking than its mainstream sibling. Power comes from a 3.0 litre V6 with two turbos – good for 500bhp and 413lb/ft of torque – which is driven to all four wheels through a DSG ‘box and can scoot to 62mph in a supercar-like 3.9 seconds on its way to 186mph.
