Ferrari to unveil hardcore 599s at Geneva show
Fri, 27 Feb 2009Ferrari 599 Handling GT Evoluzione By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 27 February 2009 15:37 Ferrari will unveil two new hardcore GTs in Geneva, a handling pack-equipped 599 and a technological test bed 599XX that combines the lessons learned from the FXX program with the ideas showcased on the Mille Chili car. Yes. It won’t quite be as extreme as the Mille Chili (one thousand kilo) car, but we’re still expecting the 599XX to have many of that car’s features.
Early cars, fashion on display at the Petersen
Thu, 16 Sep 2010Automotivated, a new exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, traces the evolution of clothes worn in cars--from the bulky circus-tent stuff people had to wear to keep from freezing to death in the jangly, open-topped conveyances of 100 years ago, up to the height of the European Concours in the 1920s and '30s, when what you and your date wore was just as important to winning best of show as the styling of your Delahaye/Delage/Talbot Lago. “In the earliest days of the automobile, you were sitting on the car, you weren't sitting in it,” said Leslie Kendall, curator at the Petersen. So the first section of the exhibit shows people (mannequins dressed as people) in heavy, practical overcoats, scarves and goggles.
Chevrolet Volt concept
Sun, 07 Jan 2007By Ben Oliver Motor Shows 07 January 2007 03:24 Don't tell me – it's another me-too green car concept that's too expensive and complex to ever be made… Not quite. For a start it's an entirely new concept, and important enough to be General Motor's biggest news from the Detroit show. An electric motor drives the front wheels.
