Ford unveils Automated Fusion Hybrid Research Vehicle

Created in a partnership with University of Michigan and the State Farm insurance agency, the autonomous Fusion Hybrid is designed to test driverless car sensor technology. The project is the one of the results of more than a decade of work in automated vehicle technology on the part of Ford.

But less likely to make headlines was the death of the driver of the car, Walker's friend for nearly a decade, Roger Rodas, who became Walker's formal business partner and financial advisor in 2007. Whitacre named General Motors' permanent CEO
