Subaru future products: Plans focus on U.S.

Subaru plans to roll out three new vehicles over the next three years: the BRZ coupe developed jointly with Toyota, a hybrid and a compact crossover. Subaru executives say vehicles are being developed for the U.S. market rather than for Japan because the company can make a bigger profit in the United States.

Lexus debuts dedicated HS 250h hybrid at the Detroit auto show

Lexus is no stranger to hybrids, with green offshoots of the GS and LS sedans and RX SUV currently in showrooms. However, joining them this summer is Lexus's first dedicated hybrid, the HS 250h, which made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show. In a nutshell, the FIA – lead by Max Mosley – has imposed a £40 million cap on F1 team expenditure for next year (excluding driver costs, marketing costs and transport), but has said that teams who don’t adhere to the cap can still compete, but will be handicapped. Not surprisingly, the richer teams have objected and, on the face of it, it starts to look as if F1 as we know it is going to bite the dust.
