Concept Car of the Week: Pontiac Banshee (1964)

In 1964, the Pontiac Motor Division was headed John DeLorean, who would go on to become one of the automotive industry's most divisive figures. He believed that Pontiac needed a compact, exciting car to compete with the newly launched Mustang and approved funding for the experimental Pontiac two-seat sports-car program, codenamed XP-833. Inspired by another GM show car, the rear-engined Corvair Monza GT from 1963, the lines of the XP-833 were a perfect example of the Coke-bottle bodystyle: long hood, short deck and sweeping fender curves.

Chevrolet Spark EV going on sale in Europe

The electric Chevrolet Spark is heading for a European debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and will go on sale in Europe in 2014. Chevrolet has revealed that the Spark EV will; make its European debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show and that there are plans to launch the Spark EV in Europe in 2014. Ford doubles sales of the C-Max and Grand C-Max Ford has revealed that the new C-Max and Grand C-Max have doubled their sales and market share in Europe in the last twelve months. Although it’s two years since Ford revealed the C-Max and Grand C-Max at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009, it took another year for the new Fords to hit the market. But since the C-Max duo hit showrooms in late 2010, they’ve certainly made up for lost time.
