Renault to unveil Alpine-branded concept car at Monaco GP

Renault is set to unveil an Alpine-branded concept car at this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix. The A110-50 – so named to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the oh-so-pretty A110 rally car – is clearly a development of the 2010 DeZir concept car although with only one leaked image to analyze, it's difficult to know by what amount it has changed. RM Auctions introduces Monaco sale during Grand Prix weekend

RM Auctions will inaugurate its Sporting Classics of Monaco auction with a sale of 105 prewar and postwar European motor cars. The event, scheduled for April 30-May 1, will coincide with the Historic Grand Prix of Monaco, now it its seventh year. Highlights include a 1938 Delahaye 135 MS Competition Cabriolet, a 1960 Maserati Tipo 61 "Birdcage" and a 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental Cabriolet.

Toyota says software glitch in data boxes can give faulty speed readings

A top Toyota executive says the crash data boxes in its vehicles are reliable but a bug in the software that reads the information can provide inaccurate vehicle speeds. The disclosure comes as the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration continues its investigation into unintended acceleration of Toyota models. “Toyota has acknowledged previously that the event data recorders are not accurate,” said Takeshi Uchiyamada, executive vice president in charge of research and development.
