Tesla Model S goes up in price
Fri, 30 Nov 2012The electric Tesla Model S – which won’t arrive in the UK until at least late in 2013 – is going up in price in the US and gets a spec change. The Tesla Model S is perhaps, just perhaps, the only really credible electric car so far; a luxury ‘Sports’ saloon car that offers range almost comparable to an ICE car and, it seems, prices that aren’t an awful lot different. On Bing: see pictures of the counterpart driving licence Tax disc to be scrapped after 93 years At present it’s tediously time consuming for car insurance companies to check motorists’ driving records with the DVLA, which means most take people at their word about the number of penalty points they have.
VW and Chinese ‘in talks to buy Vauxhall/Opel’ from GM
Thu, 09 Jun 2011GM is considering selling its loss-making European operations, it emerged tonight. If it goes ahead and severs ties with GM Europe, the General would cede control of Vauxhall and Opel, the second biggest car brand in the UK.And in another extraordinary twist, CAR has confirmed that top-level talks have been taking place between Volkswagen and the German government, which is keen to avoid Opel falling into foreign hands. Chinese car makers are circling but Chancellor Angela Merkel, who has close connections to Volkswagen chief Martin Winterkorn, would prefer VW to step up to the plate as a potential buyer than a Chinese brand.
