Mon, 29 Jun 2009Goodwood Festival of Speed will see the Jaguar XKR Goodwood Special, together with the Bonneville XFR and a trio of Classic Jaguars But ‘OTT’ Jaguars have not been much in evidence for a long time. Nothing loud and wild has come out of Jaguar for as long as we can remember, probably in deference to their customer base, which has always been on the ‘Traditional’ side. But Jaguars lend themselves to some ‘pimping’ and pushing of the boundaries, and Jaguar have decided to do just that with a one-off Jaguar XKR – the Jaguar XKR Goodwood Special.
Local Motors reveals 3D-printed car design
Mon, 09 Jun 2014Local Motors has chosen the design it will 3D-print during the course of the International Manufacturing Technology Show (ITMS) in Chicago, IL, which runs from 8-13 September. Called Strati, the concept was judged the best entry in Local Motors' first 3D Printed Car Design Challenge. It was created by Italian designer Michele AnoƩ, and his design 'will inform and influence' the car to be printed during the course of the ITMS.
Fisker ‘Project Nina’ to debut at New York Auto Show
Thu, 22 Mar 2012Fisker's Project Nina teased ahead of the New York Auto Show The ‘Project Nina’ from Fisker – a smaller take on the Karma – will debut at the New York Motor Show in April. It’s taken a very long time for Henrik Fisker to get the Karma out to the public, and even then it looks like it still wasn’t really ready to go, with reports of faults and breakdowns already starting to filter in from the handful of Karma owners. But the next stage of Fisker’s evolution in to a fully fledged maker of range-extending EVs is ‘Project Nina’, a smaller car that the Fisker – thing 3 Series – which has been funded to a great degree by the US taxpayer.
