Volvo is a brand famously associated with safety, so let’s hope its latest effort doesn’t turn out to be a load of hot air: the Swedish brand has come up with a concept for an inflatable children’s car seat. Called the Volvo Inflatable Child Seat Concept, this does exactly what it says on the tin – it’s a child seat that instead of being made of rigid material can be deflated and folded away for easy carriage when not required. Pontiac G8 inspires new police car for Chevrolet

Chevrolet is expected to reveal plans for a new, rear-drive police car on Monday--and it could be based on the doomed Pontiac G8, Automotive News reports. Chevy will reveal details at the International Association of Chiefs of Police convention in Denver. GM CEO Fritz Henderson has told an Australian newspaper that the company is working on a cop car based on Holden technology.

Press days for the 2014 Detroit auto show wrapped up on Tuesday, and the sum total was more big reveals than we can shake a stick shift at.
