Audi and Mercedes are big players (we still think the Mercedes R-Class a niche too far), and BMW play the game too, with cars like the BMW X6M and the new BMW 5 Series GT. If the Mercedes E Class Coupe Estate does go in to production it will bring to five the number of models based on the same Class – the saloon, the coupe, the cabriolet and the estate plus this new Coupe Estate.
Peugeot to create UK’s largest car wash for Children in Need
Tue, 22 Oct 2013Peugeot is once again getting set to raise money for Children in Need. Following on from 2012’s Dream Wheels campaign, for 2013 Peugeot is setting up the UK’s largest charity car wash. The Peugeot Children in Need car wash will run at Peugeot sites across the country 5-10 November, with a fund-raising target of £250,000.
Crackdown on 'distracted' drivers
Wed, 02 Oct 2013A CRACKDOWN on distracted drivers caught one motorist having a shave using a razor and a water bottle and a woman doing her make-up in the rear view mirror while on a motorway. The five-day police operation across the motorways of Hampshire and the Thames Valley resulted in 198 motorists being prosecuted for driving offences - most of them driving whilst distracted. Other offences spotted were a lorry driver brushing his teeth, two van drivers reading newspapers while they drove, one person reading a map on the steering wheel and two drivers using iPads (one on the steering wheel) as they travelled along.
