British Car Day Dayton celebrates 30th anniversary Aug. 2

British Car Day in Dayton, Ohio is celebrating its 30th annual gathering on Saturday, Aug. 2. Organizers are expecting more than 325 pieces of British sheetmetal from across the Midwest to attend.

Detroit saw Honda debut two variants of its next generation Civic. Set to make their debuts in the North American market in the spring, the cars sport tighter, more aggressive styling with 'clean-yet-powerful' lines, according to the Japanese automaker. Taking inspiration from its sibling, the Accord Coupe, the Civic Coupe will retain the familiar silhouette of the outgoing model, with a refreshed bumper treatment and more aggressive character lines around the car.

New options make Prius pricey

High-tech features and luxury options will push the redesigned Toyota Prius into new territory--namely, $30,000-plus. The 2010 Prius hybrid will offer options found on luxury cars: systems that automatically park the car in a parallel parking space and slow the vehicle when a crash is likely. But Toyota is aware of a new competitor--the 2010 Honda Insight, a hybrid that is a little smaller and expected to be less expensive than the Prius.
