College Exhibition: Pforzheim University Summer Show 2009

Germany's Pforzheim University recently held its summer degree show at the city's Congress Center for students in the school's Transportation Design program. The exhibition included work from nine graduating Masters' students and 13 Diploma students, as well as a Mercedes-Benz-sponsored project by MA students, a Renault-sponsored project by undergraduates in their 4th and 6th semesters and three Volkswagen-sponsored projects. Suzuki says mid-sized sedan will come to U.S. as planned

Suzuki, refuting media reports from Japan on Monday, said it still plans to release a mid-sized sedan based on the Kizashi 3 concept in the United States this year. The Nikkei business daily reported that production plans for the car had been shelved. "The production version will debut at this year's New York auto show in April," said Jeff Holland, spokesman for American Suzuki Motor Corp.

Small cars bring higher risk while SUVs are safer, insurance-group study finds

As late as 2007, parents were warned against buying their driving-age teens SUVs because of the rollover risk. Now it seems those are some of the safest rides on the road, according to an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety study released on Thursday. The Nissan 350Z sports car and the Titan pickup were on the low end of the list, along with the Chevrolet Aveo and the compact Cobalt sedan.
