The R model builds on the Supersport trim with more power, interior upgrades and an 1,179-pound curb weight. Dodge quietly placed the Challenger R/T Classic special edition car on its Detroit auto show stand during press days but won't announce details until later this week. Southern California legends Ed Pink and Ed Iskenderian will be honored as Hot Rod Heroes at the Goodguys 12th Meguiar's Del Mar Nationals, March 30-April 1, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Both men bring decades of rich hot-rodding and motorsports heritage to the festivities. Pink, who was one of the world's premier engine builders in all racing platforms, will have a booth on the midway showcasing Ed Pink Racing Engines and his red 1929 Ford Hiboy roadster, his “Old Master” Top Fuel dragster and other Pink-powered hot rods.
