U.S. says 90 percent of clunker claims have been approved

The U.S. Transportation Department says it has paid or approved $2.6 billion in cash-for-clunkers transactions, or 90 percent of the $2.9 billion submitted, as accelerated payments to dealers continue. A total of 534,598 claims for $2.3 billion were paid as of Sept.

Unusual features include a shark nosed form with concave sculpted fenders inspired by the DB3R and a full-width light bar visor contained in an inverted Aston grille.

New Ford Ranger debuts at Australia show

Ford's new Ranger pickup made its world debut today at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney. The compact pickup truck will be sold in 180 countries. Sales begin next summer, but the new Ranger will not be sold in North America.
