Saab sees another production hiccup
Wed, 08 Jun 2011Saab, trying to recover from a production shutdown for most of April and May, hit another snag on Tuesday as the company said it had to halt production again because of a supply disruption. The latest issue is expected to be resolved on Wednesday, the company said. "We will start tomorrow again," Saab spokesman Eric Geers said on Tuesday.
India Vehicle Design Summit 2014 announced for April
Mon, 27 Jan 2014The India Vehicle Design Summit 2014 will be the first in its history to focus exclusively on the ‘design and styling' of commercial and passenger vehicles. Taking place at The Corinthians Resort and Club in Pune from 24-25 April, the summit will feature speakers from brands including Jaguar, Ferrari and McLaren and industry experts from companies such as Volvo, GM and Tata as well as institutions such as the National Institute of Design in India and London's Royal College of Arts. Confirmed speakers include Volvo China's chief designer Gustavo Guerra, renowned designer Peter Stevens and Anil Saiini, director of design at GM India.
Porsche to take majority stake in VW for £7bn

The sportscar maker has been given the green light to purchase further stock in VW, taking its share past the 50 percent mark to give it a controlling interest. As soon as various legal checks have been cleared, Porsche plans to purchase a further 20 percent of VW stock – it already owns 31 percent - at an estimated cost of around £7 billion.
