RevTech® Transmissions

Our complete 4-speed transmissions for 1936 thru 1964 Big Twins have all the great features of our other 4-speed transmissions. The biggest difference is that we altered the casting molds to remove the primary mounting ears used with aluminum primaries. The result is a transmission that bolts into virtually any rigid or swingarm kickstart frame. And it’s perfect for building a ‘retro’ custom bike that uses tin primary, chain final drive and kick starter. Bolt it in and just add oil (and even that’s included). Complete 4-speed transmissions are designed around our RevTech® cases and highly-regarded RevTech® close-ratio gear sets. Available in 2 different close-ratio first gear versions. The 2.44:1 close-ratio first gear version has a 1.35:1 close-ratio third gear and is ideal for FX models. The 2.60:1 close-ratio first gear version also has 1.35:1 close-ratio third gear and is perfect for FL models. Both versions provide a more usable first gear and eliminate second gear ‘clunk’ with better pull in third gear. RevTech® gear faces are honed and finish ground for maximum strength and precise engagement. Shifter clutches and shifter dog faces are widened .020" for better durability. RevTech® 4-speed cases are machined from ‘356’ aluminum alloy castings and heat-treated to ‘T6’. They are finished off with our chrome heavy-duty kicker kit and chrome ratchet top. Included is a set of 1:1 ratio speedometer drive gears, a chrome clutch release lever with chrome cover and a 23-tooth transmission sprocket. Transmissions are shimmed and tested and include studs for installation on the mounting plate.

Notes: These transmissions should not be used in models with final belt drive. Kicker arm may interfere with some OEM exhausts. Late style swing out kick arm provides sufficient clearance.

This item is the 2.60:1 close-ratio first gear version complete 4-speed transmission assembly with kicker and a natural aluminum finished case and chrome covers. MSO included to be shipped separate from tranny. Includes RevTech® 5 Year or 50,000 Mile Limited Warranty. RevTech part # 30661.

Dacia Duster (finally) gets a bit of a facelift for 2015 in the UK

Fri, 19 Sep 2014

The Dacia Duster finally gets updated in the UK A whole year ago, at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013, the Dacia Duster Facelift was revealed. But that facelifted Duster was just for the European LHD market; the UK soldiered on with the old model. But now, a year on, the UK is finally getting a facelifted Duster which, more or less, seems to follow the lead of the European makeover.

Subaru BRZ STI teased

Mon, 05 Aug 2013

Subaru are teasing the BRZ STI (pictured) The Subaru BRZ – the Subaru take on the Toyota GT86 – has the potential to be a lot more hardcore than its current setup allows. That has led to much speculation that Subaru will bolt a turbo on to the BRZ’s Boxer engine to produce a BRZ with something closer to the 300bhp we originally expected. In fact, at the end of 2011, Subaru in the US confirmed there would be a turbo version of the engine in the BRZ, although they fell short of actually confirming the BRZ itself would get it as an option, but at the end of 2012 we had a report that the BRZ will get the turbo engine and that it will deliver 280bhp.
