Up for auction is a pair of 348 / 409 exhaust manifolds that are in great condition. They have been in dry storage for over 45 years. The casting is the best I have seen, no pitting divots that these exhaust manifolds were prone to. They both have very clear casting numbers of  3732794 and 3732793. They are dated dec 25/57 and feb 12/58. These are a factory matched pair intended for a 1958 car but have a 7 week difference in casting, which is not uncommon for the early dated manifolds. I cleaned, inspected and painted them and there is no cracks or repairs to be found. Very nice condition. The studs are all good and I would use them as is. But since they appear to be original studs I will leave that to the buyer if they want to change them out or not. It would be hard to find a cleaner looking pair of 1958 manifolds than these! Shipping will be fixed at $48.00 anywhere in the continental US. I do not ship to AK, HI, PR or P.O. boxes, sorry. I can combine the shipping with my other auctions if the parts can safely go together. I can also ship worldwide, overseas bidders please email me for a shipping quote before bidding. Be aware there may be import fees for international bidders. Thanks for looking and be sure to check out my other auctions for more great parts !

New 2014 Corvette shows off in non-Super Bowl ad

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

In all of the commotion about Super Bowl commercials, Chevy slipped a new 30-second 2014 Corvette spot by on its YouTube channel and no one even noticed. In the ad we see a black Corvette Stingray, first in the paint booth and then on the track. It's one of the first examples we've seen in the color, which makes the new body shape look even angrier.

Classic vs. Modern, Part One: Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 or 2012 Kia Rio SX

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

A recent 220-volt shock administered by the $23K-plus window sticker of a loaded Ford Fiesta rental car made me think about what the same dollars would buy in a classic car, and what the relative cost of ownership would be. My favorite matchup doesn't even require as much coin as said fully accessorized rental Fiesta. The 2012 Kia Rio SX carries an as-tested-by-Autoweek price of $20,745.

A schooling in Jaguar: a lifetime fan speaks

Thu, 08 Jul 2010

My Jaguar story starts in 1978. I started at secondary school which entailed a train journey each morning and then a five-minute walk. Almost every day on that walk I was passed by a beautiful Squadron Blue 4.2 XJ6 with a black vinyl roof, chrome plated wheels and a private registration number.
