Up for auction is a pair of 348 / 409 exhaust manifolds that are in great condition. They have been in dry storage for over 45 years. The casting is the best I have seen, no pitting divots that these exhaust manifolds were prone to. They both have very clear casting numbers of 3732794 and 3732793. They are dated dec 25/57 and feb 12/58. These are a factory matched pair intended for a 1958 car but have a 7 week difference in casting, which is not uncommon for the early dated manifolds. I cleaned, inspected and painted them and there is no cracks or repairs to be found. Very nice condition. The studs are all good and I would use them as is. But since they appear to be original studs I will leave that to the buyer if they want to change them out or not. It would be hard to find a cleaner looking pair of 1958 manifolds than these! Wed, 02 Apr 2014The McLaren P1 (pictured) boosts McLaren’s profits We’re starting to see the McLaren P1 – McLaren’s modern replacement for the iconic McLaren P1 – rolling out to lucky owners, and that will continue apace during 2014. Which means McLaren will see a big rise in its turnover and an even bigger rise in profits – up four-fold – as the £866,000 P1 replenishes McLaren’s bank account. But, although it will take a while to build, deliver and get paid for all 375 P1s, the P1 won’t be a long-term cash cow for McLaren, just a nice little booster as it starts to plan to up production to 4,500 cars a year over the next few years.
New (2013) Lexus IS: Official Photos revealed
Wed, 09 Jan 2013Lexus has revealed the first official photos of the new Lexus IS which will debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week. What we see is a much more dynamic looking IS, borrowing visibly from the LF-CC Concept we saw at Frankfurt last year, and promising to be the best effort yet by Lexus to put a dent in the BMW 3 Series. Prominent is the new Lexus spindle grill with a set of mean looking headlights with arrow shape LED running lights, with the cabin looking further back than the current IS, a coupe-like profile and a swoopy crease running back from the sills to the tail.
Ford and Geely agree on Volvo sale, could finalize deal in early 2010
Wed, 23 Dec 2009Ford expects to sign a deal to sell its Volvo car unit to China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group by the first quarter of 2010 and close the deal in the second quarter, the U.S. automaker announced today. Ford said that all of the deal's key commercial terms have been settled.
