VW take control at Italdesign Giugiaro through Lamborghini.

Tue, 25 May 2010

Maserati Merak - by Giugiaro Perhaps it makes sense politically for an Italian company to takeover another, but the outcome is the same – VW has taken a majority stake in Italdesign Giugiaro – 90.1% – through its Italian subsidiary Lamborghini Holdings S.p.A. Yes, it’s another Veyron ‘Legends’ Special – the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Meo Costantini

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

The Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Meo Costantini (pictured) is the latest ‘Legends’ Veyron Bugatti are continuing on their path of making just about every Bugatti Veyron that comes out of the factory a special edition car, so we get the third in a series of ‘Bugatti Legends’ cars in the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Meo Costantini at the Dubai Motor Show today. The Meo Costantini – named after Ettorio Bugatti’s friend and the one-time head of the Bugatti Race Team – is being built in a three car run, just like the Jean-Pierre Wimille Special Edition Veyron. Power from the Meo Costantini Veyron is the same as the regular Grand Sport Vitesse – 1200 horses from its 8.0 litre W12 and a 0-62mph of 2.6 seconds and top speed of 253mph – but it gets cosmetic tweaks to suit its association with Meo Costantini.

Italian supercar makers halt production after second earthquake

Tue, 29 May 2012

Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini on Tuesday suspended production after an earthquake killed at least 10 people in northern Italy where their factories are located. The three luxury sports car makers said their factories were not damaged in the quake but they had sent workers home. "All the workers and employees have been allowed to join their families" Ferrari said on its Twitter account.
