Here's a replica Carrera Speedster GT mirror cowling. It is hand formed from steel and patterned over a (wooden copy) form that I made some years back, while in possession of a factory original.

This also has the metric spiggotted nuts as per the original. This differs from my alloy Spyder cowling, available in another auction, in shape and size, and of course this item is formed in steel, like the originals. The original cowlings used a cut down oval window VW mirror, but I make a mirror and pedestal for use with this, that works much better, it isn't included, but it is shown in a couple of pictures here, and listed here on eBay in a separate auction. These are a bit of work to make, and it's authentic in its materials and execution to the originals. Shipping worldwide, and at actual cost with free careful packing.

These cowlings will fit many different cars, with perhaps some minor "tuning"? I recently had a question about the fit for an MGB. I walked over to mine in the shop and it fits really good. I've included a picture here.

'Get tough on killer drivers' call

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

DRIVERS who cause death on the roads should be jailed for at least five years, according to the majority of motorists. Eighty-two per cent reckon sentences should be higher for those drivers who kill, a survey by road safety charity Brake and insurance company Direct Line found. Brake said the latest Government figures showed 62% of those convicted of killing someone through risky driving were jailed and only 9% got sentences of five years or more.
