This is a 396 / 325 hp Big Block Chevy that is out of a 1967 Chevelle.  I originally purchased this motor for a 66 Chevelle, but since have sold the car.  It is extremely clean inside and I was told that is was rebuilt. I have no reason to doubt it.  The engine belonged to a local drag racer, who unfortunately past away.  This is what I could find out from the casting numbers, looking over the motor and pulling off the oil pan and valve covers.  I checked the bore with a scope and it looks good.  Motor turns over, but I have never run it.  It needs distributor, carburetor, etc.  Motor is sold as is on the stand in.  This is all the information that I have on it.  This motor  comes from a creditable racing family and is perfect for anyone restoring a real 396 Chevelle or Nova. Also included is a set of cast iron exhaust manifolds that belong with the motor.

Casting numbers are as follows:

Block 3902406   Appears to be stock bore.

Heads 3904390   Should have 2.06 / 1.72 Valves

Intake 3931067   Stock  396 Intake

Pistons 385624   Stock cast 396 pistions

Crank  6223        Stock 396 Crank

Serial # T0407IV

The motor sets on the stand in the garage so the buyer will need to get it in their truck to get it out the door.

Scheduled to open next year, the brand-new centre will replace the existing facilities to become a centre of excellence for training across the country.
