Nissan Nuvu 2+1 and Pixo at Paris (2008): first official pictures

Mon, 08 Sep 2008

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 08 September 2008 10:27 Nissan's Nuvu - a futuristic 2+1 urban concept car - and a new Suzuki Alto-based city car will make their debuts at the Paris motor show in October 2008. The Nuvu name literally means ‘new view’, so the concept previews urban transportation for the next decade. Pictures won’t be released until Paris, but we know the Nuvu will feature similar electric technology to the EV-02 prototype and the production EV that Nissan will unveil at the 2009 Tokyo motor show.

The best bits of Monterey Car Week 2014: a Pebble Beach photo gallery

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

CAR’s Ben Oliver is just back from the races, auctions and shows of Monterey Car Week, culminating in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Here’s his completely unrepresentative photo-diary: as you’ll see, he got most excited by the oddball Concours de LeMons… The standard of restoration required to exhibit at the Concours de LeMons is a little lower than at the other Monterey Car Week events. This is the kind of thing you see parked on the street during Monterey Car Week: the Blastolene Brothers Dream Rod, with its 2000bhp, 41-litre Packard tank engine.

Buy a Spyker Bond and get a cheap Spyker B6 Venator

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

Buy a Spyker Bond and get a cheap B6 Venator (pictured) Last year, Victor Muller seemed to have pulled off something of a coup for Spyker by delivering concepts of the B6 Venator Coupe and Spyder to much acclaim, which looked like a car that could kick-start Spyker’s rather troubled business model. After a foray in to Saab ownership, Victor Muller lost Spyker to CPP, but CPP’s reliance on finance from Victor’s pal Vlad the banker proved to be CPP’s downfall and Victor emerged, somehow, back in control of Spyker. But despite Victor’s legendary ability to schmooze finance from the most unlikely sources, it seems he’s run in to a bit of trouble with financing production of the Venator, so he’s come up with a plan that looks to be a cross between a lottery and crowd funding.
