Merc to revive straight six, plus 4cyl and smaller V8s
Tue, 25 Oct 2011Mercedes has just signed off a new engine family which will see most full-sized Mercs in future run four-cylinders, downsized V8s and… straight sixes. A friendly Mercedes engineer recently met CAR to disclose the engine plans for future models, including the surprise disclosure that Merc plans to switch to straight sixes, like its rivals over in Munich. It's fair to say I almost choked on my breakfast croissant when I found out the details of the next MB engine generation which has just been signed off for release in 2015. Chevrolet Colorado show truck is set for debut at the Bangkok auto show
Mon, 07 Mar 2011Chevrolet on Monday said a concept that previews the next-generation Chevrolet Colorado small pickup will debut at the Bangkok motor show on March 25. Chevy released a teaser photo that shows the front corner of the show truck. Chevy says it chose Bangkok for the debut because the popularity of small pickups in the market; 43 percent of vehicles sold in Bangkok last year were pickups.
Peugeot Design Contest 2008
Thu, 09 Oct 2008Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar from Colombia was last week announced as the winner of the 5th annual Peugeot Design Contest at the 2008 Mondial de l'Automobile in Paris. The 25 year old designer's winning 'RD' concept was chosen via an online internet poll and a competition jury headed by Peugeot's Managing Director, Jean Philippe Collin. This year's contest asked designers to "Imagine the Peugeot in the worldwide megalopolis of tomorrow" and to then design a car that could evolve with the cities of the future, while retaining the key values of the 21st century.
