Why Lexan??

There's a reason why windshields on NASCAR race cars are made of Lexan, which is the same polycarbonate material used on fighter-plane canopies. This material is extremely strong, Also, guards used in the industrial applications to protect people's eyes and hands when machinery is in use, are made of lexan. No other plastic can match Lexan's combination of light transmittance (clarity), and the ability to withstand extreme impact. Its the same material used by Harley Davidson. Why would you trust anything less???

This Item and All Materials, Tooling, and Packaging used are

MADE IN THE USA.

Volvo S60 DRIVe & V60 DRIVe launch

Tue, 22 Feb 2011

The Volvo V60 DRIVe This week we’re out playing with a Volvo DRIVe model, although our car is the S40 DRIVe. DRIVe models are Volvo’s push at all things green (or all things blue if you’re German) and take a regular Volvo and eco the bejesus out of it with stuff like stop-start, low rolling resistance tyres and the plethora of eco-toys car makers use to make the headline economy and emissions unbelievable. The result is a Volvo that drives pretty much the same as any Volvo but which can – as long as you play the eco-driving game – run almost on fresh air, and because cars like this are designed to hit emissions targets on official cycles, they’re also good on stuff like VED and BIK. And if the S40 DRIVe we’ve got this week is anything to go by, you can still drive with enthusiasm and enjoy it as long as you don’t mind the economy suffering.

Automakers are facing tougher government regulations for fuel economy, and one former Ford and Chrysler executive says he has a solution Chris Theodore, best known for his work on the Ford GT and Dodge Viper, has designed a vehicle chassis that he says will provide automakers with weight savings, cut manufacturing costs and make electric vehicles more economically viable. Theodore is showcasing his proof-of-concept Uni-Chassis at the SAE World Congress this week. It uses the powertrain and suspension of the GT, under an agreement with Ford.

Depending on your perspective, the BMW 328 Hommage concept unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy is either a breathtaking tribute to an automotive styling icon or a caricature of a dead beaver. No matter which side of the aisle you find yourself on, this video offering a behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoot packs plenty of allure. At just a minute and a half, it’s a great example of all that goes into our favorite kind of photography.
