A small percentage of Jeeps with 4" of lift (except Rubicon model) will require a Slip Yoke Eliminator (SLE) kit to reduce driveshaft angle / driveline vibration; this cannot be determined until the lift is installed, and the Jeep road tested. A SLE kit is required with lifts over 4" (except Rubicon model).

Slip Yoke Eliminator (SLE) kit also requires a new, CV type rear driveshaft. Superlift does not offer these driveshafts due to the multitude of possible driveline configuration. Rubicon models do not require a SLE (they are factory equipped with a fixed-yoke), but Rubicon's with 6" of lift will require a CV type rear driveshaft. Contact your local driveshaft supplier or one of the national drivetrain specialists.

  • Product Overview

The Superlift 4" lift for the Jeep Wrangler TJ platform covers all the bases. Lift is achieved via coil springs that are pre-set (fully compressed and stressed) during the manufacturing process to minimize settling.

The system also includes front and rear anti-sway bar links, a rear track bar extension bracket, longer bump stop extensions, front and rear lower control arms, a transfer case lowering kit and Superlift Superide or Superide SS shocks by Bilstien.

Options include front and rear adjustable track bars, Rockrunner swivel-link control arms and quick-disconnect sway bar links. A steering stabilizer and eXtreme Ring differential protectors are available as well.

MIT researchers rethink electric-car batteries

Wed, 08 Jun 2011

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology say a new battery design for electric vehicles could be a lightweight and inexpensive alternative. The goal for the team's three-year project, launched in September 2010, is to have a functioning prototype ready to be engineered as a replacement for existing electric-car batteries. At this point in the project, the prototype uses a “semi-solid flow” to separate the two functions of a battery--storing energy and discharging it when needed--into separate physical structures.
