Sci-fi Audi from Ender’s Game movie revealed

It’s an Audi, Jim, but not as we know it – this sleek, ground-hugging machine is a four-ringed future mobile from the forthcoming blockbuster science-fiction movie, Ender’s Game. It’s called the Audi Fleet Shuttle Quattro, and – like the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band’s ‘Urban Spaceman’ – here comes the twist: it doesn’t actually exist. Volvo XC60 R-Design revealed

Volvo has released details of an R-Design version of the XC60 Still, more power isn’t everyone’s cup of tea – particularly at the moment – but many buyers like a bit of ‘butchness’ in their cars. And to be completely fair to Volvo, although they haven’t messed with the oily bits for more oomph, they have played with the suspension for more feel. Volvo say the XC60 has improved steering (thanks to ‘Direct Steering Gear’), stiffer damping and a more robust chassis.

Driverless cars on UK pavements by 2015

REX Driverless cars are starting to look less and less like science fiction and much more like a realistic vision of our near future – and now the first UK trial of the technology is set to start in Milton Keynes in 2015. But don’t go expecting a Ford Fiesta with a brain. Instead the Milton Keynes experiment will feature compact pods that you can hail via a smartphone app, zipping along pavements at up to 12mph.
