Seat Leon Cupra 280 breaks Nürburgring lap record (2014)
Wed, 05 Mar 2014By Ollie Kew Motor Industry 05 March 2014 11:00 You’re looking at the fastest front-wheel drive car ever to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife: the Seat Leon Cupra 280. A paddleshift DSG-equipped three-door example has lapped the 12-mile lap in 7min 58.44sec – smashing the previous record of 8min 7.97sec, held by the Renaultsport Megane Trophy. Confirmed: Lexus RC (IS Coupe) arriving at Tokyo Motor Show – RC F V8 planned too

But the LF-CC was actually a two-door coupe, not a four door saloon, so it seemed highly likely there was an IS Coupe in the works that would arrive sooner rather than later. And it will, at the Tokyo Motor Show in November.

And, perhaps more importantly, the confidence Jaguar has in its ability to deliver on its promise, and to push the boundaries. Jaguar purists will complain that the XKR-S is too shouty, too loud, not quite Jaguar.
