4 New P215/75R14 98S Eldorado GoldenFury All-Season White-Wall Radial Passenger Tires; This size is used a lot on older Chevy S10's, Ford Rangers, and other older style small pickup trucks with 14" wheels as an alternative to the more expensive P225/70R14 when replacing all 4 tires as the overall diameter(height) is essentially the same; it is just narrower by about a 1/3 of an inch, very minimal difference. These do have a white striped sidewall on one side which can be turned in when mounting on the wheel to show the black sidewall if so desired. As you can see in the pictures; the white stripe is still covered by its protective blue coating. The coating is easily removed with a brush and a bucket of water(dish soap makes it even easier, but not necessary; you could even just leave it on and go thru the car wash to get it off.....though I've never tried that method) personally). Eldorado is a line of tires made by Cooper Tire, and the Golden Fury is the exact same mold as the Cooper Trendsetter SE. This particular tire is a better than average all-season tire with a 50,000 mile treadlife warranty, and a 4 year manufacturer's defect warranty. Treadwear 440 Traction A Temperature B; the last four digits of the DOT#s range from "3310" to "2811" on this particular set of 4.

Scottish Car of the Year 2011: Big night for Jaguar Land Rover

Sat, 15 Oct 2011

Scottish Car of the Year 2011 Last night saw the awards dinner for the Scottish car of the Year at the Thistle in Glasgow, with Land Rover taking top honours and Jaguar walking away with three gongs (well, two gongs and the motoring equivalent of a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ trophy). The unstoppable Range Rover Evoque took the big prize, being voted the Scottish Car of the Year. Of course, it also won SUV of the year (it would have been a bit odd if it didn’t) and at this rate – and the great feedback from customers and media – Land Rover look like they’ll be mopping up a lot of gongs this next year.

Late to the Fiesta: Ford offers $50 gift cards to buyers whose cars are late

Tue, 17 Aug 2010

Ford is giving a $50 Ford gift card to buyers of the 2011 Ford Fiesta who have had to wait longer than expected for their vehicles to be delivered. Ford spokeswoman Angie Kozleski confirmed that the company was giving the MasterCard gift cards to customers who ordered the new Fiesta, calling it “a token of our appreciation for their patience.” Ford couldn't disclose how many cards it is distributing, but said retail customers who reserved or placed an order for the new Fiesta would receive one. Fiestas have been slow to get to dealerships after a hurricane that hit Mexico in June crippled rail lines used to ship vehicles made at Ford's plant in Cuautitlan, near Mexico City.
